Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be a Christian and a member of your church?
No, not at all! Everyone is welcome. Because we are a Christian preschool we teach the basic ideas of Christianity.
Do I have to volunteer in the classroom?
We know families are busy! You are always welcome in our space. When we have opportunities to help out, we will let families know. Guests & supports are welcome in the classroom. We encourage parents to get a Criminal Record Check to ensure safety of all our children.
What is the program philosophy?
We are a Faith-Centered, Play-Based program. We encourage learning through use of a variety of materials and opportunities. We provide time and space to explore, create, build friendships, understand literacy, and self-regulate.
What is the maximum number of children per class?
We are licensed for 18 children per class.
Does my child need to be potty-trained?
Yes! We are not licensed to change diapers and we don’t have the facilities to change diapers. We do understand new learners have need support in accidents, so we provide calm and kind guidance, and help them change. Please supply a daily change of clothes in case of an accident.
Will you accept a 2 year old?
No. A child must be 3 as of their start date into the program.
What is the ratio of adults to children?
The government ratio is 1 adult to 12 children. We have a teacher and a classroom assistant supporting and supervising the children, in addition to adult volunteers count in ratio (but will not be left alone to attend to them).
Does the teacher and the assistant have a police check?
Yes, as well as a Child Intervention Check as per the Early Learning and Child Care Act.
